We use a premium shielded cable, which protects against electromagnetic interference, which we then sleeve with a choice of either 550 paracord or MDPC cable sleeves.

What is the difference between the 550 Paracord and MDPC options?

Paracord is a woven fabric, giving a smooth, warm, and soft feeling. This gives vibrant colors and will protect your cable from the sun, but may become worn if the fabric threads are caught on anything.

MDPC cable sleeves are made from PET-X, a type of plastic, which give a stronger and more premium feel. Due to the individual strands being thicker than a fabric weave, more of the cable underneath can be seen, though this can result in a pleasing effect depending on the colours used. The use of this strong plastic results in a much more resilient cable against any kind of damage.

Which termination option should I pick?

If you have an OEM GameCube Controller, you'll need to unsolder the existing cable to put a new one in. If you're comfortable with that, we recommend getting the "JST PA-F Plug plus JST PA-F Socket (soldering required)" option, which will include a JST-PA F Socket for you to solder into the place the old cable was connected. This will allow you to connect your new cable, as well as swap it out in future.

If you've got a controller that already has a JST-PA F socket installed, just choose that option and your new cable will be compatible without any work.
